How do I create an account?
Click "Sign Up" on the homepage, enter your display name, email, and password. You'll receive a confirmation email to verify your account.
How do I take my first equipment photo?
After signing in, tap the camera button in the bottom-right corner. Point your camera at the equipment nameplate and take the photo. The app will automatically organize it in your current project.
What equipment types are supported?
PLOPP Photos supports all HVAC equipment including Air Handling Units (AHU), Chillers, Boilers, Pumps, Fans, Heat Pumps, VAV boxes, Fan Coil Units, VFDs, RTUs, Cooling Towers, Transformers, Generators, and Electrical Panels.
How do I organize photos into projects?
Use the project dropdown in the header to switch between projects or create new ones. Each project keeps your equipment photos organized by location, building, or job site.

How does the AI search work?
The AI assistant can search your photos by equipment type, location, or specific equipment IDs. Try asking "Show me all chillers" or "Find AHU-1 in building 41" to filter your photos intelligently.
Can I edit photo information after taking it?
Yes! Long-press any photo to edit its equipment type, location, notes, and advanced settings. You can also add detailed equipment specifications and maintenance information.
How do I share photos with team members?
Use the "Share" button to send individual photos or entire projects to other users. Recipients will receive notifications and can access the shared content in their own accounts.
What is the Equipment LxL export feature?
The LxL (Length by Length) export creates a comprehensive spreadsheet of all your equipment with photos, specifications, and metadata. Perfect for equipment inventories and maintenance records.
How do I merge projects?
Select "Merge Projects" from the project dropdown, choose the projects to merge, and provide a name for the combined project. All photos will be consolidated under the new project name.
🔧 Technical Support
Why are my photos not syncing?
Check your internet connection and try refreshing the app. If photos still don't sync, ensure you have sufficient storage space and that the app has camera and photo library permissions.
How do I backup my data?
Your data is automatically backed up to the cloud using Firebase. You can also export your equipment data using the export feature to create local backups.
Can I use the app offline?
Yes! You can take photos and view previously synced content offline. New photos will sync automatically when you regain internet connectivity.
What devices are supported?
PLOPP Photos works on iOS and Android devices. The web version is also available for desktop and tablet use with full functionality.
How do I reset my password?
On the sign-in screen, tap "Forgot password?" and enter your email address. You'll receive a password reset link via email.
🔒 Privacy & Security
Is my data secure?
Yes! All data is encrypted in transit and at rest using Firebase security. Your photos and equipment data are stored securely and only accessible to you and users you explicitly share with.
Can I delete my account and data?
Yes, you can delete individual photos, projects, or your entire account. Contact support at rlopp.lsb@gmail.com for complete account deletion, and we'll remove your data within 30 days.
Who can see my equipment photos?
Only you can see your photos unless you explicitly share them with other users. We never share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
